Halcyon Days

To an extent, people can never really escape their personal style. That said, I occasionally really try to. I did this poster strictly because I don't often design in purple and I rarely use that Helvetica/rectangle design style that you see. You know what I'm talking about. In the end, it's OK. I've done better.

The little type at the bottom is just some self-indulgent prattle about art. I was pretentious enough to put it on there to begin with, but I'm not so pretentious that I'll leave you to wonder what it says. It reads:

I know art. I get art. I hate artists. What I know is that good art arrives at an intersection of beauty and concept. If one of those is to be sacrificed, it must the be the concept, as artists have little obligation other than to make their work beautiful. Art that fails to be beautiful is bad art, and no amount of concept is going to make up for that.

Don't read too much into it. I needed some text to fill the space, and I didn't feel like copying song lyrics.
